Electrical System
System Restart Procedure
Locate the main power switch for the system. Turn it off and wait 30 seconds. Turn the power back on and allow the system to complete its startup sequence. If restart doesn't resolve issues, check for system updates or contact support.
Satellite System Troubleshooting
Verify the satellite system has power. Check all cable connections are secure. Ensure the dish has a clear view of the southern sky. Run the system's search/setup procedure. Reset the system according to manufacturer instructions. Contact a specialized technician if problems persist.
Rear Camera Issues
Check that the camera system is powered on. Ensure connections to the display unit are secure. Verify that the correct input source is selected on the display. Check for debris covering the camera lens. Consult your manual for model-specific restart procedures.
Solar Charging Troubleshooting
Verify the solar panels are clean and unshaded. Check connections from panels to the regulator. Ensure the solar charge controller is functioning (indicator lights). Test for proper voltage output from the panels. Confirm battery connections are secure and corrosion-free.
12V System Issues
Check the main battery disconnect switch. Verify that the leisure battery is charged. Check fuses in the 12V distribution box. Ensure the control panel is functioning correctly.
Gas System
Gas System Issues
You have no gas supply in your Robeta campervan? Check that all gas isolation valves are open. Verify the gas detector hasn't shut off the system (check for alarm indicators). Ensure the gas bottle is not empty and the regulator is properly connected. If you smell gas, ventilate the vehicle immediately and seek professional assistance.
Gas Supply After Bottle Change
Have you changed your gas bottles and now have no gas supply? Check that the gas bottle valve is fully open. Ensure the regulator is correctly attached to the gas bottle. In cold weather, ensure you're using the appropriate gas type (propane works better than butane in cold temperatures). Check the gas level indicator.
Cooking Appliances
Hob Flame Issues
Clean the burner heads thoroughly to remove food debris. Check that gas pressure is correct. Ensure adequate ventilation in the cooking area. Verify that you're using the correct gas type. If problem persists, have the regulator and gas system inspected professionally.
Hob Ignition Problems
Check that the 12V system is functioning. Ensure the gas supply is on and connected. Clean any food debris from the burner and ignition pin. Try manually lighting the burner using a long match or lighter (where safe to do so). If ignition continues to fail, have the system checked by a qualified technician.
Heating & Air Conditioning
AC Performance Issues
Ensure all windows and doors are closed properly. Clean or replace air filters. Check that vents are open and unobstructed. Verify proper voltage is available. Extremely hot weather may reduce efficiency. Professional servicing may be needed if issues continue.
Heating System Cycling
Check for adequate battery power. Ensure proper fuel supply. Verify that air intakes and exhausts are clear. Check for error codes on the control panel. Poorly ventilated or extremely cold conditions may cause cycling. Contact your service partner if issues persist.
Heating Startup Issues
Check that the system has adequate power. Verify fuel levels if using a diesel or gas heater. Ensure all vents are unobstructed. Check the thermostat settings. Reset the system according to the manufacturer's instructions. If the system still fails to start, consult a Robeta service technician.
Vehicle Body
Tire Maintenance Information
The correct tire pressure depends on your specific model and loading conditions. Refer to the manufacturer's placard (usually found in the door jamb, fuel filler flap, or owner's manual) for exact specifications. Remember to check pressure when tires are cold, and inspect regularly during long journeys or before extended trips.
Payload Calculation Guide
To determine available payload, subtract the vehicle's unladen weight (as stated in documentation) from the maximum technically permissible laden mass (typically 3,500 kg). Remember to account for passenger weight, fuel, water, and essential equipment when calculating available capacity for personal items.
Exterior Plastic Maintenance
Clean exterior plastic components with appropriate cleaners (avoid harsh chemicals). Apply a UV-protectant specifically designed for RV exteriors. Regular application will help prevent fading and deterioration. Store your campervan out of direct sunlight when possible for prolonged plastic life.
Door Alignment Issues
Check the door hinges for proper lubrication. Inspect door catches and locks for debris or damage. Minor adjustments can often be made to hinges using appropriate tools. For significant misalignment, consult your dealer as improper adjustments can cause further issues.
Leak Repair
Inspect the seals around windows and roof joints. Check for cracks or separation in sealant. Clean and dry the affected areas thoroughly. Apply appropriate sealant according to your manual's specifications. For significant leaks, contact your Robeta dealer promptly to prevent interior damage.
Water Systems
Water Storage Guidelines
Fresh water is essential when traveling in a campervan. However, over time, microorganisms can multiply in the water tank. We recommend not leaving water in tanks for more than a few days in warm weather. If storing the vehicle, tanks should be emptied and cleaned.
Water Pump Issues
Check if your fresh water tank has sufficient water. Inspect for kinks in water lines. Verify the pump is properly primed. Check for clogged filters in the water system. Look for leaks that might cause pressure loss. If the pump continues to run without water delivery, it may need replacement.
Water System Cleaning
Regular cleaning of the water system is important to ensure fresh water cleanliness:
- Empty all water tanks completely
- Fill the fresh water tank with clean water and a specialized tank cleaning product
- Run water through all taps and shower
- Let the solution sit according to product instructions
- Drain completely and rinse with fresh water
Products are available from your Robeta dealer. Follow the detailed instructions in your owner's manual.
Water System Winterization
Completely drain fresh water, grey water, and black water tanks. Open all taps to allow complete draining. Drain the water heater following specific instructions in your manual. Add appropriate non-toxic antifreeze to traps and toilet according to manufacturer recommendations. In spring, thoroughly flush the system before using for drinking water.
Refrigeration
Gas Refrigeration Problems
Verify the gas supply is connected and on. Check that the refrigerator gas valve is open. Ensure the fridge is set to gas operation mode. Try resetting the ignition system. If the refrigerator fails to operate on gas after multiple attempts, have it inspected by a certified technician.
Refrigerator Noise Issues
Some noise during operation is normal, especially when the cooling system cycles. Gurgling sounds often indicate normal refrigerant circulation. However, loud clicking, rattling, or buzzing may indicate problems. Ensure the refrigerator is level and securely mounted. If unusual noises persist, contact your dealer.
Refrigerator Cooling Issues
Check that the campervan is level (most refrigerators require a level position). Verify the refrigerator is set to the correct power source (gas, 12V, or 230V). Ensure adequate ventilation around the cooling unit. Clean the cooling fins at the back. Allow 24 hours for initial cooling. If problems persist, consult a service technician.
